John Galliano - Menswear fashion show Fall / Winter 2013/14 (with itw)

Galliano man is this sympathetic boy we always like, certainly due to its appearance, both precious and relaxed. In this collection for next winter, Bill Gayten, in charge of studio, wanted to put this cool attitude forward with some contrasts of materials, shapes and colours. The florescent boots succeed to illuminate the clothes made in basic tones. Low waist trousers in a harem style or the jackets finishing in drapes provide an interesting twist to the suits. We find a play on volumes on coats, while the famous Galliano prints and the top hats appear as symbols of a label which has become a cult, even if we can feel the absence of its founder.

Music from the fashion show

Bill Gaytten : Just the mix of volumes, some oversized, some very skinny fits. Sometimes the jacket or the coat would match the top and clash the trousers, sometimes it was not matching, sometimes he had a matching top and trouser with a contrast coat, sometimes the hat colour would match sometimes it wouldn't. And again classic men's colours, burgundy, camel, gray, but mixed with fluorescent shoes, which is not normal in menswear.

That was a great coat and a jacket which was a classic fit on one side and then draped on one side, which is kind of Galliano, but not too much, I think it's still wearable and cool but then sometimes it was a classic fabric and then sometimes it was a really loud print.

Evening wear wasn't quite so formal, I mean the shirts look like a scarf, but it's built in to the shirt, so it gave it a slightly undone look, not quite so uptight, cool.
