Schiaparelli Fashion Show - Haute Couture Autumn/Winter 2017/18 (with interview)

Designer: Bertrand GuyonAtmosphere: ‘Shocking Society’, the title of this last Couture collection.Collection: A wardrobe full of lightness and transparency, comprising pleats and bare legs. The references to Elsa Schiaparelli’s art can be found embroidered on the short crepe dresses, the cubic suits or the Picasso jacket. To note: The smock jumpsuit, and ruffled tulle cloak. The trompe l'oeil jewellery embroidered on the sleeve, and the waist of a jersey dress.Interview Bertrand Guyon:The starting point was the women who evolved in the 30’s, between the two wars. All of these incredible women, artists, painters, writers who often inspired the artists they lived with, or artists in general. This is what struck me when I started to look at these photos which frequently inspire me, there was a sense of freedom and independence. A real emancipation of the ideas of strong female artists who freely expressed themselves.I wanted something light. A light collection working with transparency, tulle, netting, juxtaposed with each other in order to create new textures. Organza, muslin, something very ethereal, very light, simple and easy at the same time. Something like a sort of symbol of lightness, of freedom, also of femininity, and sensuality.Music of the show (only to be used in the context of the show, under the protection of the right to information)
