Nick Jonas partners with John Varvatos on capsule

Nick Jonas and John Varvatos have launched a four-piece capsule collection featuring leather jackets and knitwear for "a modern man's day-to-day." Jonas will also model in the designer's upcoming runway show.

The JV x NJ collection draws direct inspiration from rock and roll. The tee and hoody sweatshirt in the capsule feature graphics reading "Detroit" across the chest, while "Rock City" is placed on the back of the tee and down the sleeve of the hoody. A linen tee and leather moto jacket round out the capsule.

The brand explains that Detroit was the "backdrop to John Varvatos' early life." According to a release, the city "has come to symbolize a hub of art and culture that resonates with Nick Jonas too."

The collaboration is the first time John Varvatos has released a cobranded collection and was developed after he and Jonas met at a dinner last year. Jonas said they had no initial plans for a collection but ultimately felt a creative pull to make a fashion and music statement together.

Jonas explained, "Because it stems from a really organic conversation and friendship, we thought it could be really special."

Jonas was also recently revealed as the new SS18 face of the John Varvatos brand. To that end, he will model in Varvatos' upcoming show this weekend which ties into music and Grammys Weekend celebrations in New York.

Pieces in the capsule collection range from approximately $100 for a cotton tee to $800 for the leather moto jacket, and are available now online through John Varvatos' site.
